Grimsby & District Football League Website - Welcome

Welcome to the new home of the Grimsby Football Leauge for the season 2009-2010. It's your website, let us know what you would like to see on the website.

All of our fixtures and results for this season will be published on here as well as breaking league news.

Chairman's Message

With the current cold weather impacting on fixtures I am taking the opportunity to wish everyone connected with the League – sponsors, teams, players, match officials and the committee members a happy, healthy and successful 2010. Thank you for supporting our league and long may you do so.

The future will be secured by continuing to work together and to encourage others to join or rejoin our league nest season. League rules allow applications to be received for clubs and teams that are based in a 25 mile radius form St James’ Church in Grimsby. This means we can consider applications from clubs and teams in the Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham areas but also from outlying villages and towns to the west and south of the area. I would especially like to get the senior clubs in the area to consider entering teams to support their local community. If there is anyone interested please contact the League Secretary, Trevor Albery on 01472 231646 or myself on 01652 659073. We will be delighted to hear from you.

We are halfway through our League campaign and the title appears to be between Immingham Bluestone FC and Number One Pub FC with Caistor Tennyson FC and Nicol Construction FC both well placed to take advantage of any slip ups. Special congratulations to Number One Pub who have reached the quarter finals of the Lincs FA County Junior Cup competition and weather permitting play host to Canute’s FC of Gainsborough on 16th January 2010.Good luck to you. Good luck as well to the two other Grimsby area teams still in the Competition who are both former members of our League – last seasons all conquering side of Harvest FC now playing in the Lincs League, and Waltham Tea Gardens FC of the East Lincs Combination.

Phil Storr, Chairman
